The Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro is home to the Atiaia, Spa and Fitness Center.

The fitness center is down a flight of stairs in the hotel, but it is not really a basement, as it has plenty of windows and looks out onto a  pretty courtyard area.

The fitness center is spacious, clean and modern with plenty of air and light. Everything is state-of-the-art and plentiful. There is a separate area for stretching or perhaps a session with a personal trainer or even a class. There are lockers, bathrooms, showers, sauna and steam rooms (shared with the spa).

The Spa is beautiful and modern and the treatment rooms look divine as do the relaxation areas! I love the purple hues.

The hotel also has a beautiful outdoor pool and it is directly across the street from the ocean.
