I Lost Over 300 Ultimate Rewards Points

Mea culpa, I hang my head in shame.  I could just kick myself…. 

Yesterday, I was in such a rush to make an online purchase (Cowboy boots from Rue La La) that I committed the cardinal sin ————————–>  I forgot to check my favorite shopping portal – Ultimate Rewards (the shopping portal associated with the Chase Sapphire Preferred, the Chase Ink Bold, the Chase Ink Plus and the Chase Freedom cards). 

Had I looked, I would have seen that Rue La La is in fact a merchant on the Ultimate Rewards portal, and, if I only had clicked through Ultimate Rewards to Rue La La when making my purchase (something that takes mere seconds), I would have earned 2 extra points per dollar.  

Those points add up fast – but only if you are smart enough to use the shopping portal.  My purchase was about $175 dollars.  I therefore lost out on nearly 350 Ultimate Rewards points.

Oh, the shame……  Honestly, I wish that we could set our computers, iPhones, iPads, etc. to always go through our shopping portals of choice when shopping online.   Can’t someone create an app?
