(UPDATE: I’ve been Approved!)
On a number of occasions, I’ve written posts about limited time offers for the Amex Business Gold Card with 75,000 point sign-on bonuses. As excited as I was, I stopped myself at the $10,000 minimum spend. Even once, Amex came back and tried to resuscitate an old offer to me – and I just never went forward because the $10,000 spend requirement was too steep. What I said to myself was that I’d hold out for another offer – probably one that offers 50,000 points, but only requires a $5,000 minimum spend.
Well, as Gary at View From the Wing reported today, that offer is now live!!
The terms are:
Key terms: earn 50,000 bonus points when you spend $5,000 in your first 3 months of Card membership, the annual fee of $175 is waived for the first year.
Benefits: 3X points on airfare, 2X points on advertising, gas, and shipping, 1X points on everything else
Here’s the application link (I do not receive a commission, and only post information on Credit Cards that I’m really excited about): APPLY HERE
I am not sure how long this offer will be available for, but typically, offers such as this have only been limited time offers – generally only available for a few days or a week. (UPDATE: Promotion states that offer is open through the end of November. However, Credit Card companies have been know to change these terms, with little notice. So, if you want the card, you don’t need to run and apply this second, but you should not wait till the last day).
You can apply for this card even if you have a personal gold Amex, but you can’t apply if you’ve had a business Amex within the past year.
As soon as I saw Gary’s post this morning, I applied on line. Although the website says you’ll receive a determination practically immediately, the response I received after submitting my application was “PENDING” and to expect a decision within 7 or 8 days. This is typical for me because I have a security block on my credit accounts due to an incident a number of years ago.
I am hoping, since I did a mini-app fest yesterday (i.e., I applied for two new credit cards at basically the same time), that this application will go smoothly. Because of the above-mentioned security block, I usually don’t wait for a determination, but instead call the credit card company within 24 to 48 hours after submitting my application.
