HELLO THOMPSON, WELL HELLO THOMPSON . . . 

A few months ago, World of Hyatt announced that it had acquired Two Roads Hospitality (see, Hotel News: Hyatt Acquires Two Roads Hospitality, Including Joie de Vivre, Thompson and Other Hotel Brands!)

Since October, we have patiently waited to hear the next step. Today, Hyatt has officially announced the introduction of Thompson Hotels as the first of the Two Roads brand to join the World of Hyatt loyalty program for stays starting March 28, 2019.

There are eight participating Thompson Hotels located throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. These properties include Gild Hall and The Beekman in New York City; The Cape in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Thompson Chicago; Thompson Nashville; Thompson Seattle; Thompson Toronto; and Thompson Zihuatanejo on Mexico’s Pacific Coast. (Properties currently under development include Thompson Hollywood in California, Thompson D.C. in The Yards, Thompson South Beach, and Thompson San Antonio).

HYATT MEMBERS WILL RECEIVE FULL BENEFITS AT THOMSON HOTELS

I was curious whether and what benefits Globalists and other World of Hyatt members will receive at Thompson hotels. In particular, would Globalists receive the full gamut of Hyatt benefits for stays at Thompson Hotels or would they receive diluted benefits, such as they receive for stays at SLH hotels?

I am happy to report the answer: Effective March 28, 2019, World of Hyatt members can earn and redeem points for their stays and enjoy full in-hotel benefits that they’re used to receiving at Hyatt hotels and resorts, at these eight participating Thompson Hotels properties when paying an Eligible Rate or redeeming a free night award.

So, Globalists will get their upgrades and 4pm checkouts and waiver of resort fees, etc.

It ALSO follows that World of Hyatt members will be able to use free night award certificates at the two Thompson category 4 hotels – one in Chicago and one in New York City.

World of Hyatt is offering a new promotion to encourage members to try these new brands. Members can earn 2,000 Bonus Points for their first qualifying stay with each of the new brands, plus a free night when they try all four brands. Also, World of Hyatt credit card holders will earn an additional 4x Bonus Points when spending at Thompson Hotels, and Hyatt credit card holders will earn an additional 3x Bonus Points. No registration is required.
