Monday night, I attended gdgt Live In New York, an event hosted by gdgt – a company known for its reviews of technology products. Don’t we all love new techie products? #gdgtNY, the hashtag of the event on twitter, held on West 18th Street in Manhattan, is the kick-off event for Consumer Electronics week – lots of technology companies showcasing their products and giving away lots of swag.
I’d heard that getting into the event often entailed a 2 hour or more wait. I contacted a good friend at Gogo Inflight – the company that provides wifi on flights – and was given a VIP code (THANK YOU GOGO — THANK YOU SCOTT!!). VIP status entitled me to wait on line for only one hour (with occasional downpours), and enter with the Press/Media/VIP an hour before the public entered. Yip. That meant….. being able to stroll and review the products without big crowds, getting a drink (or two), and…. SWAG!. There were lots of sponsors and exhibitors, including, among others, Barnes & Noble – NOOK, Logitech, Western Digital, Tekserve, Olympus, GoGo, Nokia, Monster, Roku, Sony, Otterbox and Speck. It was a fun and informative night – it was nice to walk around and to hear about interesting new products from the exhibitors at the event.

Great review of last night’s #gdgtNY event! Glad you made out with lots of nice swag. Who said you have to run marathons to pick up armfuls of schwag? 🙂

Looks like you had a blast! Wish I could have been your date LOL. I haven’t used GoGo before in flight so that would be a great prize!

I love my Garmin eTrex for running. The watches are too big for my skinny little wrists! I like it because it’s tiny, easily packs in a carry-on, and I can use it for skiing, biking, and hiking too!

Is there a product that will run for you? My favorite travel gadget is my iphone. Have to stay in touch in the road!

Love my Garmin 305 (may be upgrading soon)… couldn’t run without it. And the iPhone while traveling is a lifesaver.
