With the Novocaine wearing off (I had root canal this morning), and it being too soon to take more Ibuprofen, I thought I’d share a few good deals and posts with you.
Deals We Like posted about how to get 15% off a SouthWest flight by registering with “Cooking with Kraft”! (And who doesn’t love Macaroni and Cheese?!)
Rick at Loyalty Traveler wrote an informative piece on Hotel Chains that Offer AARP Discounts. He also wrote on a summer Best Western promotion where you get a free night after three stays.
Points, Miles and Martinis shared information on the “Magic Jack” App for Free International Calls. I’ve got a few international trips coming up, so I’m particularly interested in this.
Gary at View From the Wing reported on the current state of “good credit” and “good credit cards.” This is a must read for anyone trying to assess which credit cards to apply for. I intend to write more on, particularly from the perspective of people who travel from location to location to run races or for other sports or hobbies.
The Points Guy wrote a thorough piece on the Best Business Credit Cards. I am going to study this one carefully, as I only have one business credit card (the Chase Ink Bold Mastercard – which incidentally is a phenomenal card), and would like to add one or two more to my “collection.”
Last, but certainly not least, there was an interesting article in today’s NY Times entitled “Have Elite Fliers been Downgraded.” As someone who pays for all of her own travel, and strives to fly 25,000 miles per year, I’ve unhappily witnessed the dwindling of perks accorded to the Delta Silver Elite Medallion.
