Update: Both Air France and KLM offering $50 Discount Offers

I enjoy opening the holiday emails from airlines. They are a nice break from the frenetic Black Friday emails, the Giving Tuesday and the rush-to-purchase-before-Christmas emails.

Even though the airlines’ ultimate goals obviously are to keep your loyalty and to sell you tickets, the holiday emails are pretty and creative and arouse musings of love, magic and beauty, and I like that.

Some of these emails contain special offers, so I encourage you not to auto-delete them without first glancing at the content.

Today, I received a holiday greeting email from Air France USA which includes a discount of $50 towards the purchase of an Air France or KLM flight with the code AFXMAS1023. While this offer can’t compare to the 13,500 mile mistake fares of last week, this discount code might be useful if you are planning a winter trip to Europe.

Here are the primary terms and conditions of the offer:

Purchase before 9 January, 2024.
Completed travel before 31 March 2024.
From United States (on an Air France or KLM operated flight) to Anywhere in Europe (on an Air France or KLM operated flight) or North Africa.
Valid for departure from the continental United States only.
Booking class: Economy, Premium Economy or Business.
Cart minimum value of $400 before taxes, surcharges and carrier-imposed surcharges.
Discount of 50$ off per booking/cart.
Operated on AF or KLM flights only.
Valid on new bookings only on airfrance.us
Only one use per person. 1 usage per email address.
Minimum of 1 adult in a booking is required.
Multi destination trip or open jaw are not permitted.
Discount code cannot be used to purchase ancillary options.
Purchase must be made using a credit card (PayPal or Time to Think option not accepted).

How to Redeem your $50 Discount from Air France:

• Visit airfrance.us choose your date when you want to travel and make your booking online.

• After you have filled in your personal information and when you reach the payment (checkout) page, enter the AIR FRANCE discount code “AFXMAS1023” in the ‘enter a voucher or discount code’ field.

• Click on ‘Apply’ and the discount will be taken into account. You can then proceed with payment.

Today I received a similar holiday discount offer from KLM – the code is KLMSUNSHNE.

The main difference here is that the KLM offer must be used by December 31, 2023 and that the travel must be completed by May 31, 2024.
