As first reported by Loyalty Lobby, and thereafter by One Mile at a Time, Novotel Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) hotel, is rebranding to Hyatt Regency effective February 1, 2025.
The 4-star hotel has a very good reputation (albeit a little pricey for an airport hotel, in my opinion). Whereas many Accor loyalists may be unhappy about this anticipated transition, many World of Hyatt members are excited.
Since this was reported on January 9th, I have been eagerly scouring the Hyatt website looking for any information on the upcoming transition, since I’ll be transiting through BKK airport at the end of February. (So, yes, my interest in this topic is personal for me!). Until today, the only place on the Hyatt website where I saw the hotel mentioned was in the list of pipeline hotels. Until today.
Today, the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport hotel came up in my search. Although it is still listed as Coming Soon, and I couldn’t make a booking (yet), I now have some new information to report.
First, the hotel is a category 2 World of Hyatt hotel. Second, the hotel now has a website.
Most of the photos on the new Hyatt website are stock photos or copied from the Novotel site. At least for now, the hotel will keep the 24-hour check in procedure utilized by the Novotel and the restaurants listed on the Hyatt website are the same as the present restaurants at the Novotel. Whether Hyatt has plans to renovate or make any changes to the hotel is not known yet. Also unknown is whether or not the hotel will have a Regency Club.
Having said that, the hotel looks great, with over 600 rooms, nice restaurants and a fitness center, spa and pool. Plus, it is on airport grounds and therefore convenient for overnight stays before or after a flight.

Category 2 is pretty cheap considering the location and the prices they charge in cash. Nice place. My wife and I stayed there last year and liked it. I (a Globalist) used my $300 Cap 1 Venture X credit to book this hotel in June. Now I need to figure if there’s a way to recover that money and book with points.
