I often joke, saying SeaKelp, instead of Seek Help, but that is essentially the point of this post.
Today, many people who were relying on a certain credit card (i.e, the old blue Amex cash card) got caught with their pants down. Suddenly, their money is gone, and, whether their actions were wise or not, they are in a precarious situation where they are not sure what to do. Say what you will – that it was inevitable, or whatever, I am concerned for the welfare of some of these folks.
Let’s make this personal: If you got shut down, and find yourself worried about what will happen, depressed, embarrassed, afraid to talk to others about it, and just anxious, helpless and out of sorts, please know this: you are not alone and there is help. SeaKelp! It is only money, you can get out of it.
If you feel like you are losing control or just need someone to speak to, do not despair! Reach out, whether to family, friends, hotlines, outreach centers, or medical assistants. Do not hang your head – this has happened before to countless others. There are so many people who care about you, and can help you work this through.
If you are involved in the MS world, check on your friends to see if they are coping okay. Maybe this is the truest sense of being a good steward. If you work in therapy and mental health, and want to add some comments, suggestions, websites, phone numbers, please do so.
In the meantime: this is the website for National Suicide Prevention. You do not have to be suicidal to call. Their phone number is 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
You matter. Be well.

LOL! A long time ago, an old Jewish traffic judge (seeing my aggravated state), told me relax, stop worrying, it’s just money! In our case, this is even less than money, it’s a hobby. Well, even less than a hobby, just a small part of it. Of course, there are folks who make a full-time living with MS… but, well, they shoudn’t.
Love SeaKelp. I’m going to steal it. 🙂

There is a scene in the movie Gardens of Stone where James Earl Jones says “Sometimes you eat the bear “bar” and sometimes the “Bar” eats you”.
When you play with credit card companies it’s like playing with a big “bar”. It you tame it right it will play with you and have fun but….if you beat it with a stick too many times watch out.
Great post btw.

ha. Made me think of the saying: Sometimes you’re the fly, sometimes the windshield!
