First, the bad news. It looks like the days of getting multiple US Airway Dividend Miles Mastercards is a thing of the past, at least for me. I recently applied, and was rejected. I called a few times, and still got the same response. I think it’s kind of funny that the declination letter recites a credit score of 805! I mean, who wouldn’t want to give me another card? Alright, c’est la vie. Such is life.
And, now for the goodies. A little over one month ago, I wrote Barclays Keeps Throwing Money and Miles at Me! In that post, I reported that Barclays not only waived the annual fee for the card, but also offered me an additional 10,000 miles if I spent $3,000 within three months. Prior to that, I had received and accepted a targeted offer for 15,000 miles if I spent $500 per month for October, November and December (see HERE).
Fast forward to today. I was looking at my account online and noticed that a renewal fee had been assessed. I phoned Barclay and spoke to Tom. Tom agreed to remove the charge. Then, to my surprise, he said he had yet another promotional offer for me (in addition to the one offered and accepted on September 30th).

The one offering the most miles as well as the best bang for your buck, of course! No matter how much you spend the 10K for 3K spending is better. We can’t seem to get any of these offers anymore.

10k for 3k is the better deal 🙂

This is easy. The 10K bonus is better as I find it unlikely that you’d spend the necessary amount in groceries/gas/utilities to exceed that bonus.

bingo, in fact, I’ve already spent the $3k!
