Ink 48, is a Kimpton Hotel on 11th Avenue and West 48th Street in Manhattan. Like other Kimpton properties, it is dramatic, stylish and welcoming. Last night, in honor of Earth Day, Ink 48 had a special extended 2 hour wine event showcasing some great New York wineries. I had the pleasure of attending, thanks to an invitation from Katherine Brooks, Marketing Coorinator for New York City Kimpton hotels.
The event was held at the Garamond Room on the fourth floor of the hotel. At least 6 wineries from all over New York State (including the North and South Forks of Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and the Finger Lakes), were in attendance and pouring their wines. There were also delicious hand-crafted chocolates by Tumbador – made in Brooklyn, as well as a book signing of Sizzle in Hell’s Kitchen by its author Carliss Retif Pond. In addition to the wine, there were nice platters of salami, ham, cheeses and bread.

Very nice! I was there a couple weeks ago and saw (didn’t meet) Richard Branson entering the lobby to ride up to the rooftop lounge for a Virgin event. They’re a really popular spot for stylish corporate events, product release parties, etc. Location is a little inconvenient to subways and midtown companies, but not terrible. Also, the construction around the hotel can be a little annoying if you’re a light sleeper, but at least that’s temporary.
All in all, I really like the property, moreso than the Muse.

I’ve been to events at Eventi and Ink48, and I’ve been in the lobby of the Park70. I like all of them. Ink48, though lovely, is at an inconvenient location for me. I’ve never been to the Muse.

I still haven’t been to Eventi and Park70, as they’re not particularly convenient to the clients I visit in NYC. I’ve been wanting to try them out, though.
