Won’t Run and I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Princeton, New Jersey. I visited Princeton many years ago and always wanted to return so this was perfect for a quick weekend. We booked two nights at the Hyatt Regency over a holiday weekend.
It was a perfect stay. The hotel is very nice and there is a lot to do in the area, including visiting Princeton University, walking around the town of Princeton, and seeing the fabulous larger than life art and sculptures at the Grounds for Sculpture in neighboring Hamilton, New Jersey. There were also plenty of malls and restaurants.
First and foremost – a shout-out to the hotel for its great staff and customer service!
Our room, though not a full suite, was clearly an upgrade. It was smartly furnished and there was plenty of room. The shape of the room was not the typical rectangular shape – it was almost a trapezoid with a sitting area near the window. Clearly the room had been recently renovated.
The bathroom was over-sized, with an additional dressing room area. The closets were in this bathroom dressing area, rather than in the main room.
The restaurant is on the ground floor of the hotel. Fabian, who was making the omelets, quickly became my new favorite person when he happily agreed to make an omelette with smoked salmon and cream cheese. YUM! The selection of food was excellent. There was one issue I encountered with the restaurant – both mornings, when we arrived during the final hour of breakfast, there were many tables that were not cleaned up. In fact, we had to wait at least ten minutes, and ask twice, if we could be seated. I’m guessing the restaurant was short-staffed that weekend.
Many of the guests at the hotel were there for a wedding. Having recently visited India, it was exciting to see the joy and bright colors everywhere. One morning, when I went out for a run, I got to see the groom’s procession, and dancing in the street as the grooms family met the brides family. Of course, the children were precious!
There is a review of the fitness center and jogging map in a separate post.
I totally enjoyed my stay at the Princeton Hyatt Regency. I recommend the hotel and would happily return.
