There’s a new contest from Radisson Blu in collaboration with Republic of Fritz Hansen:

The Radisson Blu Egg Chair Design Contest  

A bit of background:  In 1960, legendary architect Arne Jacobsen designed the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, now known as the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel.  As part of that project, he designed the famous Egg and Swan chairs!  (see, The Birth of the Egg)

Here’s the contest:  Design your own Egg Chair!  Now, with this contest you have the opportunity to design your own iconic Egg Chair!

Simply sign into your Club Carlson account (or create an account if you do not already have on), then choose colors, designs, patterns, and backgrounds for YOUR chair, and submit the chair to the contest.

There will be a Design Jury to judge the chairs – the members will choose the finalists and the winner.

GRAND PRIZE:  Win your own customized version of the Arne Jacobsen iconic Egg chair!  Your design will be the centerpiece of the Radisson Blu traveling exhibition showcasing the designs from all of the finalists. Additionally Radisson Blu will fly the winner and one guest to Copenhagen for a 3 night VIP stay at the Arne Jacobson Room 606 at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, and a dinner at Alberto K.

15 FINALISTS: the 15 design finalists will receive a miniature version of their customized  Egg chair, plus two nights at a Radisson Blu hotel of their choice.

I designed a chair I think should win, but I’m keeping it secret.  I’m a little superstitious that way.
