The W Fort Lauderdale is a beautiful, sexy, luxurious, oceanfront hotel.
I stayed here for three nights in October. As I’ve previously mentioned, my stay at the W was complimentary as part of a luxury-themed TBEX FAM tour of Fort Lauderdale.
My room, on the 20th floor of the hotel, was modern and cool. It was spotless and extremely comfortable (whether sleeping or just relaxing), and there was a beautiful little terrace from which I could see both the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway.
The storage and closets were actually functional! And I loved the shocking pink closet! As a runner, an in-room safe is essential to me. Yes indeed, someone (or more likely, many people) planned out this room carefully so it was not only sleek and fabulous, but it was also functional.
A clear glass shower separated the bathroom area from the bedroom area. Oh my – it was a nudie shower! It’s a good thing I wasn’t sharing the room – it took a bit getting used to this, but it was fine. I loved the bamboo trimmings, and I’ve been in love with Bliss toiletries since my first W stay many years ago. The sink had space for toiletries, and the frosted glass door to the toilet was another nice addition.
The room was gorgeous, but what really grabbed me were the magnificent views from my room and the balcony.
As I mentioned previously, this was a media trip, and the host hotel and Visit Fort Lauderdale could not have been more generous. When I arrived, there was a welcome kit, including vouchers for breakfast or meals at the hotel. In all honesty, I did not need these vouchers, as we had so many meals over the course of the three days. And, instead of breakfast, I tried to run and enjoy the free coffee in the W Cafe. But, the point is, it was all pretty incredible and well-planned out.
Shortly after checking in to the hotel, there was a knock at the door and these glorious items were wheeled in. Wow!
Oh my – thank you for that 375 ml bottle of tequila!
Downstairs, the lobby and the grounds of the hotel were fabulous as well. This is in the lobby area. I loved the cool ocean blue. I could swim in it!
All the right touches!
And here’s a view of the ground floor, looking out onto the beach and A1A in front of the hotel. Look at the color contrast and designs!
This is where I enjoyed my cup of coffee each morning.
The pool, on the second floor of the hotel was so inviting. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any time to swim.
The fitness center will be reviewed in a separate post.
Sometimes I’ve shied away from hotels such as this fearing they would be snooty and arrogant. The W Fort Lauderdale, though modern and luxurious, was also welcoming and attentive. Plus, I love being right on the ocean. I am so happy and thankful that I had the opportunity to stay here. I would gladly go back and recommend the hotel to others.
