What would a luxury-themed tour of Fort Lauderdale, Florida be without a lavish spa experience at the Ritz Carlton Hotel? Don’t answer that, it’s a rhetorical question. But, for me, luckily, and incredibly, it was a heavenly reality.
Being fit entails not only working out and eating good foods, but also treating your mind and body well. And what better way to attain that than to visit the Spa at the Ritz Carlton?
We arrived and were greeted at the hotel spa.
The atmosphere was elegant, serene and zen.
The women were escorted to the women’s room, and the men to the men’s room. The locker area was as lovely as expected. We were provided with lockers and robes. There were bathrooms, showers, and other facilities, such as a sauna and steam room and the facilities were stocked of course with an abundance of toiletry products. Let the pampering begin!
Here I am, in white, feeling as if I should be in the cast of the HBO TV show, The Leftovers!
We were then brought out to a lovely living lounging waiting room area. There was a spread of fruits and danish out. So here we were, in this serene room and it was time to relax, and get in the zen and peaceful spirit for the treatments ahead. This was also the room we’d be brought back to each time a treatment was done and we were waiting to be called for the next appointment.
My first appointment: a detox massage. 80 glorious minutes. The masseur explained that this was not a typical massage offered on the Spa Menu. Instead it was a combination of treatments. First, I was brushed and lightly scrubbed with a salt product. Then, I showered and received a full massage. I was in heaven, and left feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. (sorry, the photo of the massage table is apres massage. This is analogous to taking a food photo after you’ve already taken a few bites!)
After spending some more time in the living lounging waiting room area, I was beckoned for my hair appointments. First, I had a Moroccan oil hair treatment, then a hair cut. The salon was lovely, and also had a great view of Fort Lauderdale. Here I am with Ginger, the stylist.
Before leaving, we were escorted through the hotel, and shown the lobby and the construction site of a future restaurant at the hotel.
As I have previously mentioned, my spa treatments at the Ritz Carlton, Fort Lauderdale were complimentary as part of the TBEX FAM tour of Fort Lauderdale.
