Following in the footsteps of Delta – and it’s extra legroom product – Delta Comfort, American has now announced that:
starting today, enjoy complimentary beer, wine and spirits when you fly in Main Cabin Extra. That’s on top of the other great benefits you already enjoy like:
- Extra legroom
- Earlier access to overhead bin space
This also works to the benefit of AAdvantage members at the Platinum level and above, since they now get complimentary access to Main Cabin Extra at the time of booking.

This all comes at the cost to Gold elites and credit card holders that use the priority boarding benefits. Now MCE further pollutes early boarding groups it seems. Golds no longer get 50% discount on MCE at time of booking. Very disappointed and feel this is generally a bad move by AA.
