Tuesday, the sport apparel company, Under Armour, launched its newest global marketing campaign, Unlike Any. I was lucky to be invited to run with the Under Armour group early in the day and then attend the Under Armour Unlike Any event in the afternoon.
The Morning Run:
We met at the Dream Hotel Downtown on West 16th Street (where the Under Armour team was staying).
The run was lead by Alison Désir, champion runner and founder of Harlem Runs, and attended by an international group of Under Armour employees (from as far as Turkey) and international journalists. We introduced ourselves and ran (and walked) along the Hudson River talking and learning about one another.
The Afternoon Unlike Any Event:
The Unlike Any event was held at Chelsea Market. The space was adorned with posters of Under Armour’s featured female athletes, including: American Ballet Theatre ballerina Misty Copeland, long distance runner Alison Désir, world champion sprinter Natasha Hastings, professional stuntwoman Jessie Graff, and Chinese taekwondo champion and actress Zoe Zhang.
It was fascinating to learn each athlete’s story – and how each was beyond comparison and Unlike Any other. I was personally moved, inspired and empowered by these women.
A presentation followed. It was strong, focusing on and celebrating the paths taken by each of these women. Under Armour created short video films (linked below) displaying the remarkable talents and stories of each of these accomplished athletes. Through unique collaborations with spoken-word artists, the campaign celebrates the incredible achievements of female athletes that rise above gender comparisons.
Below are each of the Unlike Any videos.

This was an exciting day – and I am so thrilled that I was able to experience it. I left with so much inspiration and even a shirt that said Unlike Any!
