Right now, many of the airlines are running sales from many US cities to Europe with fares around $400 (with some as low as $349). This includes European cities such Amsterdam, London, Paris, Helsinki, Rome and Dublin – to name a few. A good source for travel sales is The Flight Deal (their website is down at the moment, but should be back up quickly).
Go to ITA Matrix or Google Flights and look for available dates – on Google Flights, you can even list Europe as your destination and see what pops up.

I randomly looked on Google Flights for New York to Europe for March 10 to March 13 – and these were some of the results:
Deals like this don’t last long, so don’t hesitate if you’re interested in booking one of these flights!

I discovered this by accident last night as I was doing research for a trip to Helsinki. I booked a flight from Minneapolis to Helsinki in August for $442.
