As most of us are aware, Citibank has a program called Merchant Offers, whereby you can enroll certain Citibank credit cards for additional cashback when used with certain merchants.
Recently, Giftcards.com showed up as one of the Merchant Offers.
This showed up as a Merchant Offer for many of my Citibank credit cards, including two AAdvantage Mastercards. I enrolled both cards.
Weirdly, however, I discovered that when I enrolled the second card in the Giftcards.com Merchant Offer, the first card became unenrolled from the Merchant Offer. It did not fully disappear from the list of available Merchant Offers (like happens with Amex Offers), but it just changed status from enrolled to unenrolled.
I am not sure if this is intentional or a glitch, but I think that every time you plan to use an enrolled Merchant Offer, you should go on the Citibank website to make sure that the enrollment is active (or to reactivate it if it has become unenrolled).
Have you experienced this or similar phenomena with Citibank Merchant Offers?

This is intentional. Figg runs all of these offers and it’ll only process on the last card you added the offer to.

I have 9 Citi cards, and the issue is different for me. I enrolled all in the giftcards.com offer, but 2 of them don’t stick. They appear enrolled at first, but when visiting later those 2 show as not enrolled. It doesn’t matter if I enroll them last. Are you sure that’s not what you’re seeing? Also this doesn’t occur for other offers, just giftcards.com.

I see this mainly as between my two AA branded citi credit cards. Yes, I observed it with Giftcards.com. I’m not sure if this happens with any other cards.

You wrote “when I enrolled the second card in the Giftcards.com Merchant Offer, the first card became unenrolled from the Merchant Offer.”
Now what happens if you enroll in the opposite order? Do you ever see card #2 unenrolled? If not, then it’s more like my issue.
P.S. My 2 cards with an issue are Double Cash and AA MileUp. I also have a 2nd MileUp and an AA platinum with no issue.)

I enrolled 8 cards two months ago for giftcards.com. I used the offer on 75% of the cards. All but 1 card used got the $ credited properly. I chatted to get the last one credited, a pita. However, it was around August 21st and the offer expired August 31st. The other cards I didn’t use the offer on but previously activated, the offer was just gone, not enrolled or unenrolled. Just gone. One work around is to the enroll, use the offer on a card and then enroll again before using a second time. Citi IT problems? Shocking development!
