Right now there are some fabulous summer World of Hyatt promotions. There’s the Hyatt Regency and Grand Hyatt promo, where you can earn 2,500 bonus points for every five nights stayed through August 31, 2018. Then there’s the Andaz promo, where each night through August 31, 2018 counts as two for elite tier qualification. On top of that, there’s the 10% point rebate promotion for Chase Hyatt cardmembers, for point redemptions from August 1 to September 30th.
So, I was thinking. With the major promotions aimed at Hyatt Regency, Grand Hyatt and Andaz Hotels, how are other Hyatt brands at similar levels, such as the Hyatt and Centric brands doing? Certainly, if a World of Hyatt member was to choose a hotel in Manhattan, and the rate for the Andaz Fifth Avenue hotel was similar to the rate at the Hyatt Union Square, wouldn’t one choose the former in order to get two nights credit?
I stayed at the Hyatt Union Square about a year ago and really enjoyed it. It is in a fabulous location and has a wonderful boutique ambiance, much like an Andaz Hotel.
Well, guess what? The Hyatt Union Square now has a few promotions of it’s own which ideally will level the Hyatt playing field.
EARN 2,000 POINTS PER NIGHT
This is a huge offer. Earn 2,000 points for each night stay through August 31, 2018. According to the terms, you must use offer code HUS2K at the time of booking. I tried using this rate, and it appears to be the same as the advance purchase rate. Some people might be more interested in points than in night credits, so this promotion may help keep this hotel competitive with the Andaz hotels in NYC.
WEEKEND GETAWAYS. STAY 2 NIGHTS, GET 3rd NIGHT 50% OFF
Arrive Thursday or Friday and stay till Monday, and Sunday night will be 50% off. This is a good deal. I am not sure whether this promotion can be stacked with the 2,000 point promo above (but if I were booking this, I would contact Hyatt to see if they would combine the two promos).
AAA FREE BREAKFAST
This promotion runs through the entire year, and requires booking with the code AAABB. The AAA rate is 10% off and the breakfast will be complimentary. This rate is somewhat limited, but where available, the AAABB rate is the same as the AAA rate. Also, although the terms say that the AAABB rate is available through the end of the year, I tried a lot of dates after August and it did not show up at all (maybe the availability of the rate will be updated over time?), Considering the price of a hotel breakfast in New York City, this may be a valuable promotion.
Are there similar promotions in other locations?
