I’ve seen all sorts of hotel gyms – ranging from laughable dumps all the way to totally amazing. The fitness center at the Hyatt Regency Chicago is the latter – it is a gem (related: Will Run For Miles review of the Hyatt Regency Chicago Hotel)
Sure, it’s a big hotel, so I guess it only makes sense that it have a large fitness center, with lots of modern state-of-the-art equipment, but that is not always the case especially with large urban hotels. Well, here it was.
This gym is equipped with plenty of everything – from treadmills to stationary bikes to free weights and exercise balls – and there’s plenty of room, light, mirrors and clean air. There’s also the obligatory water, headphones, towels, newspapers and green apples. The only thing missing is a swimming pool.
The weather was so amazing the late-October weekend when I visited Chicago that I did not have the occasion to use the Fitness Center. That is my one regret – it truly is a masterpiece!
