United Airlines Apron! (photo: www.WillRunForMiles.com) |
Will Run For Miles has had some week. I think we all have.
I spent part of last weekend in the emergency room after an encounter between my head and the sidewalk (actually, I was knocked down very hard to the ground by a very rushed man trying to get to the other side of the street). Thankfully, I only suffered a minor concussion. However, a day or two later, I realized that my ribs were bruised, which is rather painful, especially when I try to sleep or run. A sleep-and-run-deprived Will Run For Miles is not a happy camper.
Of course the main news of this past week has been the Boston Marathon Bombings. That touched all of us. Brought us to our knees. Made me sad. Made me scared. Made me angry. I am not yet defiant. I am still in a funk. I am still feeling a little fragile. I thought mostly about this all week, and so, blogging or “livin’ la vida loca points-and-miles life”, just flew out the window.
Next week, however, I will have a huge announcement. But that is next week.
In the meantime, and while we heal from the ordeals of this past week, why not do a giveaway? I promised one a week ago, when the blog hit 100,000 lifetime hits.
And so, without further adieu, Ladies and Gentlemen, who does not want a beautiful new royal blue United Airlines apron? This was given out at the Star Alliance Mega Do 4 for those of us who went on the tour of the United Airlines Food and Catering Facilities in Chicago. What a great choice this was – while others were tugging planes in, the Food and Catering folks were being wined and dined by United Airlines. I’m good with that!
Leave comments below – about how you would use the apron if you were the lucky winner. Please be sure to leave an email or your name on twitter so I can contact you if you win. The winner will be chosen at random on Wednesday.
Thank you and consider donating to the One Fund Boston, a charity set up to help the people most affected by the tragic events of April 15, 2013.

I would wear it proudly when cooking. It will match my United Towels.

I would wear it making my lobster rolls.

I would give the apron as a gift to a friend who is a UA 1K and like to bbq on his back deck. He would find it highly amusing.
And congratulations on 100K hits!

I think a lot of us have been in a funk these past few days. 🙁
But, the apron would be fun to wear for cooking parties with friends.
