When you have a 6 a.m. flight, and it is February and you are in Poland, booking your final night at an airport hotel is more than a smart plan. In this situation, it worked out incredibly well because: (1) as you can see from the photo, the weather was in fact pretty atrocious, (2) the airport hotel, the Hampton by Hilton Gdansk Airport Hotel, was just a few steps away from the airport, and (3) the hotel was actually very nice. (and honestly, the staff at this hotel were so much kinder than those at our hotel in Old Town Gdansk).

Having spent three nights in Old Town, G’dansk, we spent the final night of our trip at the Hampton airport hotel. We took an Uber there arriving around 5 or 6 p.m. (Uber aren’t expensive in Poland). The hotel has a very new and clean feel to it. Check in was friendly and easy. The price was about $90 for the room.
This is the hallway. I loved the carpet!
The room is small but clean and functional.
Complimentary water.
The weather outside was . . . well . . . quite wintery.
The bathroom:
I have Gold status with Hilton and my friend has Diamond status. We were each given a voucher (or perhaps two vouchers). After checking in to our rooms, we met back downstairs and got some candy and wine with our vouchers.
The lobby was very lively.
Bar:
There were a few nice rooms in the lobby area. This room had business facilities.
This is the breakfast room. We left before breakfast, but the hotel made a generous “to go” breakfast bag for us.
The fitness center was pretty nice for an airport hotel (I was only there for a few hours so I didn’t have a chance to work out).
All in all, it was a great hotel for an airport hotel. And then, sometime around 4 am, we traipsed through the snow to the airport to catch our flight.
