In December, as part of our trip to four cities in Europe (Dublin, Liverpool, Manchester and Amsterdam), we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Manchester, UK for two nights. This was my first visit to Manchester. Our stay here was a quick trip primarily to visit Dave’s family, so I honestly wasn’t expecting much from the hotel. Boy was I wrong. I loved the hotel and the hospitality here.

The hotel property houses both the Hyatt Regency and the Hyatt House, and the two share many of the same facilities, such as the bar and restaurant and the fitness center. The hotel is located near Oxford Road, close to many of the city’s universities, and a short walk or ride to the center of Manchester.
The hotel is elegant and modern, but charming at the same time. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. Both the Hyatt Regency and the Hyatt House are category 2 World of Hyatt properties, which is a steal in my opinion.
Before we arrived, I received an email from Ms. Helen Hama, the Assistant Guest Services Manager, informing me that there were no suites available on the Regency side of the hotel for the nights of our stay, and offering a suite at the Hyatt House side instead. I declined, and I’m glad I did, as I really liked the hotel room we stayed in on the Hyatt Regency side.
Front desk check in was easy.

Our room was bright and lovely! We were very pleased and comfortable with the accommodations. The room was well organized and spacious.
Although I didn’t see any of the Hyatt House rooms, from the photos, I can tell that the Hyatt House accommodations are very nice too. Many of the Hyatt House rooms are suites with kitchens, so they are particularly well-suited for family and/or extended stays.
We received a lovely welcome gift and note.
They had one of my favorite hotel toiletries too!
The hotel does not have a Regency Club, but they offer cocktails and canapes at the bar for Globalist members. We really enjoyed this.
Breakfast was also a treat! The selection of both hot and cold breakfast foods at the buffet was vast. I am not fond of typical Irish and English breakfasts so I was thrilled to see so many international and Mediterranean items offered. I finally had a delicious breakfast!
I liked the hotel fitness center a lot! (see hotel fitness center review, HERE).
I wish I lived closer to this hotel. If I did, I would choose it for frequent visits! I cannot end this review without raving about Ms. Hama – she is passionate and enthusiastic about her work and an asset to World of Hyatt. She was a dream to meet and I hope that my paths cross with hers again.

We stayed at the Hyatt House Manchester 2 weeks ago and received an upgrade to a suite as a Globalist. We were very impressed with this property and agree that the breakfast was great!
