I first learned of this promotion from Miles to Memories and Frequent Miler this morning.
Hyatt is running a new promotion whereby you can receive 10% of the redeemed Hyatt Gold Passport points back to your account. This is a targeted promotion, valid only for Chase Hyatt Credit Card members.
This is the PROMOTION LINK.
Essentially:
- You must register for the promotion between July 11, 2016 and August 31, 2016.
- You must complete the stays by October 31, 2016.
- The promotion includes award stays booked on points alone and points and cash awards.
- If you meet the above requirements, you will receive 10% of redeemed points back in about 6 to 8 weeks.
Now here’s where it gets interesting: Miles to Memories reported that only new bookings count and if you have stays that are already booked, they won’t count. I am happy to report that I was told that stays booked prior to the promotion will in fact count. Specifically, I called Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond Line with this very question – the agent put me on hold. She went to a Supervisor. They in turn went to a Reservations Manager. The agent said that this is what the Reservations Manager said, and I quote:
YOU DO NOT NEED TO REBOOK ANY RESERVATIONS IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THE PROMOTION
I asked for the Agent’s name and the Reservations Manager’s name, and asked that they put a note in my file to this effect. I am happy because I have a number of points and cash and award bookings coming up between now and October 31st. My result is YMMV.
Here are some more terms and conditions from the promotion website:
The promotion is valid only for Hyatt Credit Cardmembers who receive this promotion from Hyatt and register for the promotion between 7/11/2016 and 8/31/2016. To qualify for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment. Only points redeemed between 7/11/2016 and 10/31/2016 will be eligible for this promotion. If a redemption is connected to a stay, the entire stay must be completed by 10/31/2016. You will receive 10% back on the Hyatt Gold Passport points you redeem for award stays, points + cash, suite upgrades and dining and spa activities. Points redeemed for Avis car rental certificates or points transferred to airline partners are not eligible for this promotion. Please allow 6-8 weeks after your points redemption has been completed for your bonus Hyatt Gold Passport points to be loaded into your account.
Hyatt reserves the right to alter or withdraw this promotion with a suitable substitute offer of equal value (if legally required) at any time due to actual circumstances. This promotion is subject to the terms and conditions of Hyatt Gold Passport. For terms and conditions, visit goldpassport.com.
I’m looking forward to some 18,000 category 5 stays, etc.
