Killer Heels
Last night I was at the Brooklyn Museum at a reception for the opening of a new exhibition. While I was there, I decided to check out the Killer Heels: the Art of the High-Heeled Shoe exhibit.
Killer Heels explores fashion’s most provocative accessory. From the high platform chopines of sixteenth-century Italy to the glamorous stilettos on today’s runways and red carpets, the exhibition looks at the high-heeled shoe’s rich and varied history and its enduring place in our popular imagination.
I had missed the opening reception for this exhibit last month as I had been away traveling somewhere or another. I didn’t know what to expect, but I was totally blown away! This was a fabulous exhibit – what amazing shoes and oh so very sexy they made me gasp! Of course, I thought of my friends Jeanne, Keri and Tiff at Heels First Travel – if they haven’t seen this exhibit, they must! The exhibit opened September 10, 2014 and runs through February 2015 (though I wouldn’t recommend running in these shoes) — THIS is a must see! Here are some photos I took, but you really must see this exhibit in person!

Killer heels is right – I’d surely die if I wore them.
Either I’d have a freak fall that would kill me, or I’d kill myself for ever thinking I could put them on and walk in them! 😉
Looks like a fun exhibit. That makes two things I wish I could go to in NYC: the meetup at the TWA Terminal and this exhibit. Sadly I won’t be there any time soon…. But we had great fun when we were there in Sept so who knows – could be back!
