According to the terms you can only receive up to $1 off per transaction.
So, you could buy a lot of $5 Starbucks cards?
From what I understand, despite it possibly working on gift cards at Starbucks, cash back is capped at $1 Maximum for this deal.
My SO did two transactions at our local Starbucks. One was for $5 added to a card on his phone app and the other just a payment on some coffee. Within a few hours he got emails that he’d earned $1 and then $.94. They did not come one after the other, making us think it was one transaction a day, but the second confirming email did arrive a few hours later.
But go slow folks! If you overdue it, you may put the deal and/or what you personally get back at stake.
