$150 Cole Haan Shoes for $17.65

This post is shopping related, not travel related. But, if I could travel, I’d probably bring these shoes along with me.

I happened to look on the Cole Haan website and saw some beautiful $150 sandals on sale for $30 and $40. I jumped because I already owned one of the styles (I bought them last year for much more) and liked them so much, I thought I’d buy another pair.

I decided to buy one pair of the ZERØGRAND Criss Cross Sandal (in gold) and another pair of the ZERØGRAND Global Double Band Sandal (in silver)(note: Cole Haan’s ZERØGRAND collection is known for comfort).

Now comes the stacking of discounts. This is like when the stars align, and you can use multiple discounts at once.

First, I noticed that there was a 20% statement credit Amex Offer on my Platinum American Express card.

Second, before making any purchase, I always check the cash-back portals. First, I go to cashbackmonitor which shows me all of the mile, point and cashback options. Topcashback is offering 10% cash back for Cole Haan purchases. On top of that, Topcashback also has a $2.50 cashback offer if you make any purchase through the portal of at least $10.

So far so good, right?

I began with the Topcashback portal and it took me to the Cole Haan website.

Guess what? On the Cole Haan website, there was a  pop-up offer of 10% for a first purchase if you sign up for emails. I signed up and received a code for 10% off my purchase.

Price of 2 pairs sandals: $60.00 (free shipping)

10% coupon from Cole Haan- $6.00

Paid $54 with my American Express Card

I will receive a statement credit of $10.80 from Amex (20% of purchase)

I will receive cashback from Topcashback in the amount of $5.40 and $2.50.

Final cost of the two $150 Cole Haan sandals:

$60.00 -$6 = $54

$54 – 10.80 -5.40 – 2.50 = $35.30

That’s $17.65 per pair!!

Wow! Now if only I had somewhere to wear them!
