In August 2024, Hyatt announced it’s planned acquisition of Standard International and its Iconic Hotel Brands, The Standard and Bunkhouse Hotels (see, UPDATE: New Hyatt Acquisition Announced: The Standard and Bunkhouse Hotels).
Since then, hotels belonging to the Standard family of hotels have appeared on the Hyatt website, with the caveat that booking at these hotels will not earn Hyatt points or credits. Well that is all changing finally.
I just got the news and I want to share it immediately. After a longish wait, the integration of Hyatt and The Standard Hotels is beginning – and World of Hyatt categories have been assigned to many of these hotels.
Starting today, members can begin earning and redeeming at participating The Standard and The StandardX hotels including:
May 7, 2025 (today)
- The Standard, Ibiza (Category 6)
May 14, 2025
- The Standard, London (Category 6)
- The Standard, High Line (Category 6)
- The Standard, East Village (Category 6)
May 21, 2025

So, Ibiza is first up, beginning today, and London and the two New York City locations join next week. This is very exciting news, and opens up more choices for World of Hyatt members. I’m happy to see that the integration has begun and that, so far, none of the hotels are above a category 6. Based on the above, it appears that, once the integration takes place, elite members, such as Hyatt Globalists will receive all of the same benefits with Standard hotels as they do with World of Hyatt hotels.
Great news for World of Hyatt members! Kicking off with Ibiza and soon adding London and NYC gives travelers some fantastic new options in prime destinations. The fact that none of the properties are above Category 6 (at least for now) makes them even more accessible for points redemptions. It’s encouraging to see the integration rolling out smoothly—hopefully this is just the beginning of more additions to come.
