I visited Kyoto, Japan last year to run the marathon there (see, Kyoto Marathon 2014) and stayed at the Hyatt Regency Kyoto. I loved the hotel! (see, Hotel Review: Praise for the Hyatt Regency Kyoto).
The Fitness Center at the Hyatt Regency Kyoto, was equally wonderful. It was spacious, clean, bright and full of great equipment.
To my surprise, as a gift for running the Kyoto Marathon, the hotel treated me to a massage! An hour or two after returning to the hotel, there was a knock on my door. It was the Masseur, who greeted me and escorted me to the hotel spa. He showed me to the locker room, where I was told to change into a set of sweats. The massage was different from the sport massages that I am accustomed to. First, there were the thick sweats which I was told to keep on for the massage. Second, the massage was very light – there was no digging into muscles at all. Still it was very nice and extremely nice of the hotel.
