Did you ever just come across a sale you have no idea about – and then something wonderful happens because you see a crazy cheap price and you do a double-take and rub your eyes thinking you might have have either made a mistake or found one? (nice run-on sentence…)
This morning I decided to check on award flights for the Chicago Seminars (a fun weekend for points and miles geeks). I looked at flights for NYC to CHICAGO for October 20 – 22. First, I looked at prices, about $250. Then I looked at award tickets for AA, BA (Avios) and AS. eh…..
Then I looked at Delta.
10,000 skymiles round trip LGA-ORD? This was too good to be true, right?
TAKE OFF FROM COAST TO COAST.
SHOP OUR LOWEST U.S. AND CANADA AWARDS FOR MORE ADVENTURES IN THE NEW YEAR.
In this case, big gifts can come with surprisingly small price tags. Give adventure freely with U.S. and Canada Awards starting at just 5,000 miles* one way (plus taxes and fees) when you book by January 13, 2017, and travel from January 30 through July 31, 2017.
This is a great sale!
BUT WAIT – The promotion information for this sale says all travel must be completed by July 31st and my booking is for October!!
And, as I look generally, I see sale fares through the year, 5,000 miles one way to Charleston, 7,500 to Portland, Maine, 10,000 to Orlando, etc.
This sale is not only through July 31st, as the website says, but continues through the fall and possibly further.
So, this is either a glitch or yet another sale that I’m not aware of. I’d write more, but I’m busy looking for more flights……
