Yesterday, I wrote about Hyatt’s upcoming Bonus Journeys Promotion as well as the extension of three current promotions (see, Hyatt Announces Multiple Fabulous Promotions).
Some questions have come up about these promotions, so I reached out to Hyatt for the answers.
As a preliminary matter, many people tried to register yesterday for the promotion where you can earn 15%/25% points back for point stays and got error messages. The links are now working.
Which Stays Count for Double Tier nights under the upcoming Bonus Journeys Promotion?
Question: Will tier and free nights earned through the Chase Hyatt Credit cards (via spend or free anniversary nights) earn double tier night credit under the Bonus Journeys Promotion?
Hyatt’s Answer: Only the nights earned from eligible stays during the Promotion Period will earn a bonus night toward tier status in 2021. Therefore, tier-qualifying night credits earned through the credit card (i.e. anniversary nights, night credits earned through spend) during the Promotion Period would not count toward earning a bonus night toward tier status in 2021.
Stays from January 1 through January 4
Question: How will stays between January 1st and 4th be treated under the Bonus Journeys promotion?
Hyatt’s Answer: Nights completed between January 1 and January 4, 2021 will count twice in 2021.
NOTE TO SELF: Make sure to book a JANUARY 1 to JANUARY 4 stay to earn 6 tier qualifying nights for 2021!
Stays that commence before year end, but end after January 1
Question: previously if you stayed December 26, 2020 – January 2. 2021, that would count as 7 nights in 2021. How will that be handled under the Bonus Journeys promo?
Hyatt’s Answer: For every Tier-Qualifying Night on stays completed during the Promotion Period, you will earn one Tier-Qualifying Night credit toward elite status in the year in which it was earned and one bonus Tier-Qualifying Night credit toward elite status in 2021.
BOGO Miraval Resort and Spa promotion?
Question: Will the current BOGO promotion for Miraval stays be extended?
Hyatt’s Answer: this offer is not being extended at this time, but we’ll let you know if anything changes.
If you have any further questions, feel free to include them in the comments, and I’ll try to get you the answers.
