Last week, I attended a press conference presented by Lufthansa Group. This panel presentation and group discussion included senior executives from Lufthansa Group (Frank Naeve, Lufthansa Group Vice President of Sales for The Americas, Heike Birlenbach, Senior Vice President Sales, Lufthansa Hub Airlines) and was moderated by Tal Muscal, Director of Group Communications, The Americas. The discussion touched on various topics concerning the airline industry in general, and the future of the airlines comprising the Lufthansa Group, in particular, including their plans in the aviation market, cooperation between various Star Alliance carriers, and various innovation projects, such as biometrics and voice recognition. The panelists also touched on the development of the Premium Economy product, opportunities for expansion in the Americas, and the joint efforts with United and Air Canada in the transatlantic market.
The choice of venue was outstanding! THE TWA LOUNGE ON THE 86TH FLOOR OF ONE WORLD TRADE CENTER!!
The TWA Lounge is so amazing!
Here’s the entrance:
Lufthansa Group’s panelists:
The main room is decorated to look just like the iconic JFK terminal! The sunken lounge is carpeted in Chili Pepper Red, the signature color created by Saarinen for the TWA Flight Center, and the inspiration for Benjamin Moore’s 2018 Color of the Year, Caliente!
How about this view?
The lounge was filled with many wonderful TWA posters filled with memories!
There were a few rooms off of the main room, each decorated with TWA memorabilia and Eero Saarinen designs. Talk about time-tripping!
Music of the times!
Tons of TWA books and other memorabilia!
One final room was dedicated to the floor plans and designs of the TWA Hotel opening this week.
I even got some postcards and TWA wings (I have some extras – should I do a giveaway?).
The TWA Hotel officially opens at JFK Airport this Wednesday. I’ll be paying a visit as soon as I can.
