(Dec. 5, 2012) – Megabus.com …. today announced it is offering 200,000 free seats for travel Jan. 9 to Feb. 28, 2013. Customers can begin booking their free seats today.
The free seats will be subject to availability for travel Jan. 9 – Feb. 28 to/from cities served by megabus.com in the USA and Canada. Travelers will need to use the promo code TRYMEGABUS to book their free seats.
When I saw this I immediately signed up for a few mini-trips, not certain which I’d definitely take, but well worth the 50 cent service fee.
TRICK: I noticed that some of the Sunday return trips were unavailable for $0, but instead was $16 for two passengers. However, if I removed the promo code and only searched for the fare for one passenger, it came up as $1. So, I booked it that way.
So, all in all, I booked three trips from NYC for two persons – two to Philadelphia and one to Boston. It cost $5 all together. –>
