Restaurant week meals are available from Monday–Friday and Sundays for select restaurants. Qualifying meal(s) (lunch and/or dinner) and exact details are determined by restaurant. Saturdays are excluded from the program; Sunday participation is optional and varies by restaurant. Check individual restaurant websites for further details.
Note that terms apply. Offers will vary. Beverages (including alcohol), gratuity, taxes and additional costs are not included in the NYC Restaurant Week price, unless otherwise noted by the individual restaurant. Visit nyctourism.com/rw for additional details.
So, is this a phenomenal deal? Some restaurants and some menus are and some are not.
I remember when Restaurant Week meals were a true bargain with prices beginning at around $25. At those prices, I didn’t hesitate to make a lot of reservations!
A $60 prix-fixe dinner can easily translate to over $100 per person with a beverage and tax and tip, so the attractiveness of NYC Restaurant Week depends on what your idea of what a bargain is or what a splurge is. I usually use Restaurant Week as an opportunity to try a new restaurant and get together for lunch or dinner with a friend I haven’t seen in a while.
I wish I was a foodie like Albert Choi, so I could know which reservations to jump on!
Have you looked at the list of participating restaurants? Which ones do you suggest?
