At noon local time today, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) opened registration for members of SAS’s frequent flyer program, EuroBonus, to sign up for the mystery flight experience named Destination Unknown. According to SAS’s press release, over 1000 members have already signed up for the chance to embark on this mystery journey. All seats on the flight are reserved for SAS EuroBonus members only, for a price of 30,000 EuroBonus points. Signup is for 24 hours only through the SAS app, and that those confirmed on the trip will be notified by email. (further details can be found here).
On this mystery trip, passengers know only when and where the trip begins, not where it goes.
This mystery journey, Destination Unknown, will take place between April 5-8, 2024. As for the details of this journey, only the embarkation date and place has been announced, to wit, that “on April 5, SAS EuroBonus members will meet at Copenhagen Airport ready to board a mystery trip.”
According to Paul Verhagen, EVP & Chief Commercial Officer at SAS:
“I am thrilled about this innovative concept, and I am confident that, just like me, a lot of travelers are excited by the idea of an unknown destination. The prospect of embarking on an adventurous and mysterious journey with fellow enthusiasts, finding new connections and friendships along the way, is truly exciting. SAS equals trust and quality and promises our passengers an adventure that will bring their travel experience to a new level. These are not just trips; they are extraordinary journeys that will stay with you for a lifetime.”
I think this is pretty cool. I’d love to go on this Destination Unknown trip. Would you?

Personally not interested in booking myself on such trip but interesting to follow it anyway.
It sounds like SAS has picked a location and got a hotel room block for the destination picked and thus avoid a PR mess up if rooms at the destination were to sell out or become astronomically expensive. I will guess it’s a destination where the national currency is the euro.

oh, I agree that SAS probably has all of the details already worked out. The hardest part must be keeping the secrecy.
