Why I am Planning a Staycay at a Dream Hotel This Summer

Earlier this year, World of Hyatt announced that it had acquired Dream Hotel Group comprised of a small number of upscale luxury lifestyle hotels, including The Chatwal, New York (joined The Unbound Collection by Hyatt),  The Time New York (joined JdV by Hyatt), The Chatwal Lodge, New York (joined The Unbound Collection by Hyatt), Dream Midtown, New York, Dream Hollywood, California, Dream Nashville, Tennessee, Dream South Beach, Florida, Dream Downtown, New York and Unscripted Durham, North Carolina (joined JdV by Hyatt).

All of the Dream Hotels (other than those that joined other Hyatt brands) are now fully incorporated into World of Hyatt as the Dream Hotel Brand. You can further explore the Dream Hotel collection here.

There are two Dream Hotels in Manhattan: Dream Downtown and Dream Midtown. Both have cool, luxury, boutique vibes to them. Both are Hyatt Award Category 6 hotels.

Incidentally, back in 2017, I toured the Penthouse Suite, the Guest House, at the Dream Midtown a few years ago (see, The $2,000 Per Night Guesthouse at the NYC Dream Hotel Midtown). PLANNING A STAYCATION AT A DREAM HOTEL NYC

I decided to book a night at a Dream Hotel in New York City. Do you want to know why? Here are my reasons:

1.  TO WRITE A REVIEW.  If you know me, you know I like checking out new hotels and fitness centers and writing reviews for my readers.
2. HYATT BRAND EXPLORER AWARD. Hyatt has a Brand Explorer Award  program whereby you can earn a free night award for every additional 5 unique Hyatt brands you stay at over the lifetime of your membership. With the addition of the Dream Hotel Brand, Hyatt now has 28 unique brands. So far, I have stayed at 13 different brands, and have earned two free night awards for the first 10 stays. Now, I need two more brands to earn another free night, and a stay at a Dream Hotel will be one more brand and one step closer to a free night!!
