A few weeks ago, the rage on the blogs was a link to sign up for instant Leaders Club status, the elite loyalty membership for the Leading Hotels of the World. (This was the LINK though it no longer works).
I signed up and was warmly greeted into the stratosphere of Leaders Club.
Among other things, I was told my new elite status would earn all kinds of benefits:

Well that fancy status was short-lived. Today I received an email retracting it. It said:
It has come to our attention that you recently obtained a membership in our Leaders Club program through an offer that was intended for a special population. As you were not a legitimate recipient of this offer and accessed it through unintended means, your Leaders Club membership has been terminated as of 01 March 2017. If you believe you received this message in error, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Oh well. Easy come easy go. I assume others received this email too?
