I have written about Exhale Spa many times, first in 2018, when Hyatt and Exhale Spa entered into a collaboration, offering guests a broad range of well-being and fitness-related services (see, Well Being and Travel: Hyatt and Exhale Join Forces!).
Many of us were sad when the strategic partnership between Hyatt and Exhale came to an end.
In 2023, I wrote about the anticipated opening of the Exhale Spa at the Virgin Hotel in New York City, designed to provide hotel guests and members with a new standard of well-being with industry-leading products and spa treatments, state-of-the-art recovery services and boutique fitness classes. (see, Coming Soon – An Exhale Spa at Virgin Hotel New York City).
I thereafter became a member at the Virgin Hotel location for three months enjoying the monthly facials and/or massages offered by my membership (see, The Exhale Spa at the Virgin Hotel in NYC). I enjoyed the spa and the treatments, but I found that the location was not convenient for me.
Months ago, I was told that another Exhale Spa at a New York City hotel was in the pipeline. The hotel in question was the Thompson Central Park – – I eagerly awaited further updates!! I’m thrilled to report that the time is NOW!
As a former Exhale Spa member I received advance notice last week informing that the Exhale Spa at Thompson Central Park is set to open in February or March, 2025.
Our newest expansion will include everything you love about Exhale: full day spa with an expertly curated menu, fitness studio and a full schedule of Barre, Yoga and HIIT classes, well-appointed changing rooms, zen lounge and well-being boutique. In addition, the new location includes a luxurious fitness center, plus new hot and cold therapy recovery amenities including zero gravity loungers and more!
As a prior member, I was given first dibs at signing up for a choice of various founding monthly memberships. I am told that memberships will be limited in number (though I don’t know the exact number), and that the founding membership rates are exclusive through December 31, 2024.
The memberships, all month-to-month, range from fitness center only, to various spa memberships. The pièce de résistance, in my opinion, is the Founding VIP Life membership ($199) which includes, among other things, a 90-minute signature spa therapy, unlimited fitness classes, unlimited access to the fitness center and unlimited access to spa amenities.
Is this something for you? If you live or visit New York City, and only want a single monthly massage or facial, then the basic Spa 60 Minute membership may be of interest to you (that was the membership I had at Virgin Hotel and I can attest to the quality level of the service).
If, however, you are interested in the whole enchilada – unlimited fitness center access, classes and spa access as well as a 90 minute treatment each month, then the Founding VIP Life membership looks like a phenomenal deal. I think this is going to be the quality of Equinox of Lifetime, but with a 90 minute treatment, and at a much lower price!! I am signing up for this membership!
As a founding member, I received a further offer: If I sign up before December 31, 2024, I could pay $50 (the monthly amount won’t be charged until Exhale Spa at Thompson Central Park actually opens). For that $50 payment, I would lock in my membership and additionally receive a $250 spending credit and the $199 initiation fee would be waived.
I was informed that I can share this special founding offer with readers. If you are interested, feel free to reach out to me. Or you may contact jacquelynne.tamminga@
So, what’s the future of Exhale Spa’s relationship with other Hyatt hotels? I don’t know. I asked, but no one is saying anything yet. They are working on Exhale Spa’s hotel expansions one hotel at a time.
In conclusion, the return of Exhale Spa to Hyatt, specifically at the Thompson Central Park in 2025, marks an exciting chapter for wellness enthusiasts and hotel guests alike. I believe that this strategic partnership will elevate the well-being experiences offered at Thompson Central Park (and maybe other Hyatt hotels some day soon), blending luxury and comprehensive fitness and spa services. I also believe that the founding memberships offer value-packed options that cater to various preferences, from basic spa treatments to all-inclusive wellness packages.
