Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love street art and frequently share photos of the street art I’ve seen in my around-the-world travel. But it goes much further than that – – I love art that you can wear! I like art that you can wrap around yourself. It’s as if you are the canvas and you become the art.
Wearable art is a particularly wonderful phenomenon when I am working out. Maybe black works fine at a cocktail party, but when I’m running, I want apparel that is not only comfortable and moisture-wicking but is also imaginative, vibrant and conducive to working out.
Enter, INKnBURN. If you know me, you have probably already seen me running around or at the gym in INKnBURN apparel. Each item features original artwork and is manufactured on a limited edition basis.
The clothing is from California and made in USA. INKnBURN tech fabric is called Dry I.C.E. – it keeps me cool and dry. The clothing stands the test of time – everything I own still looks brand new and the colors are as vivid as the day I bought them.
I have been a fan of INKnBURN for at least five years. What do I own? So much. For tops, I have short-sleeves, long-sleeves and tank tops as well as bras, camisoles and pullovers (for colder weather with thumbholes – runners love thumbholes). For bottoms, I have various style shorts, skirts (skorts), capris, tights and pants. Everything is artistic, but also functional (no chafing and the more pockets the merrier!).
I wore these kraken capris on all of my recent long haul flights to and around Southeast Asia. They were comfortable enough to sleep in and they brought me luck – I got whole airplane rows to myself!
I particularly love the INKnBURN skirts. Usually when I’m traveling (and, if you haven’t guessed, I travel a lot!), I run outdoors or work out at the hotel gym before meeting my boyfriend or colleagues for breakfast. Somehow wearing an INKnBURN skirt to a five-star luxury hotel restaurant seems and feels entirely appropriate whereas other items might not.
How fitting then was it when I was asked to sample a new INKnBURN matching set (often referred to as a kit)? I couldn’t say yes fast enough. And what’s most exciting is that one of the items I was given to review is a style that is new to INKnBURN – a RACERBACK DRESS (together with matching 6 inch shorts). The design is called Sea Foam – the swirling blue design looks like ocean waves of water!
This dress is so cute and flattering. I can wear it with the matching shorts or black shorts, or capris or tights. I can also wear the shorts on their own with a different top.
Not only is the Sea Foam dress beautiful and perfect for working out, it is also versatile and therefore ideal for travel. It can double as a dress or a tunic with leggings. How would I wear it? I would wear it with tights and a long cardigan when traveling or over a short black skirt in warm weather. It would also make a great swimsuit cover-up.
I’m definitely sold on the new INKnBURN dress style. I’m guessing the dress will be released in other patterns as well in the days and months to come.
